Before you start
Confirm the short-form video or post opens in a browser without logging in. Private accounts, close-friends content, and expired temporary posts cannot be downloaded through third-party tools. If the platform shows a login wall in an incognito window, Social Saver cannot access that media either.
Copy the full link from Share → Copy link when possible — shortened redirects sometimes fail. Our supported links guide lists what we accept.
Step 1 — Copy the link
Open the post you want to save, tap Share, then Copy link. On desktop, copy the URL from the address bar after the page loads. For carousel posts (multiple photos or videos), one link covers the entire post — after analyze you can select individual items.
Step 2 — Paste and analyze
Open Social Saver, tap Paste, then Analyze link. Wait until thumbnails appear. Analysis usually takes a few seconds; busy periods may take longer. If nothing appears, read the troubleshooting guide.
Step 3 — Download
Choose the files you want, follow the on-screen unlock steps, then add them to your Downloads queue. On mobile, use our Social Saver app for a streamlined save-to-gallery flow with optional premium ad-free access.
Short-form videos with music
Short-form videos that include licensed music should download with audio when the platform exposes a progressive MP4 on the public page. If audio is missing, the source may only provide a video-only encode for that clip — that limitation comes from the platform, not from our tool.
Carousel posts
Carousel posts show multiple thumbnails after analyze. Tap each item you want to save. Mixed carousels (photos and videos together) are supported when each item is publicly accessible.
Common mistakes
- Pasting a profile link instead of a link to one specific post.
- Trying to download from a private account you do not follow.
- Using an expired or deleted link — the platform returns errors for removed content.

Tips for better results
- Use the link from Share → Copy link, not a third-party redirect when possible.
- Short-form videos with music should download with audio when a progressive MP4 is available.
