Privacy policy
Last updated: May 21, 2026
This policy covers the same service whether you use our website or our mobile app. On the Apple App Store the app is listed as FB Insta Downloader; we also refer to the product as Power Downloader on the web. Throughout this page, "we" means the operator below.
Power Downloader ("we") respects your privacy. This policy describes what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your choices—as required for transparency on app stores and regional privacy expectations.
What we collect and why
- URLs you submit (e.g. Instagram or Facebook links) are processed on our servers temporarily to locate public media endpoints. We do not require an account or a name.
- Operational data includes your IP address (or a stable derived key when IPs are unavailable) combined with request timestamps to enforce abuse protection and reasonable rate limits. This is stored in-memory for short rolling windows, not indefinitely.
- Short-lived download tokens may embed a permitted media URL and filename so your browser can fetch the stream safely; tokens expire shortly (on the order of minutes) after issue.
- Completed media files pass through only for delivery to your browser. We do not operate a long-term file storage or catalog of downloads for resale.
- Google AdSense (display ads) On the web version we may show ads served by Google LLC. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to personalize or measure ads. See Google's Privacy Policy and configure ad personalization at My Ad Center. Where regulations require consent for non-essential ads or cookies (e.g. EU/UK/EEA or certain U.S. states), we rely on consent tools or banners in addition to this policy.
- Mobile app (FB Insta Downloader) The app is free to download. Core features (paste a link, analyze, queue downloads, save to Photos) work without a subscription. An optional monthly auto-renewing subscription (Premium) removes in-app banner and interstitial ads while active; there is no free trial. Payment and renewal are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google Play on Android; we do not store your payment card details.
- Ads & measurement (mobile) Non-subscribers may see ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). AdMob may use device identifiers and, where you allow it, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt for personalized ads. In the EU/UK/EEA and other regions where required, we show Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent before personalized ads. Firebase components bundled with Google’s SDKs may collect aggregate usage data; see Google's Privacy Policy.
- Photo Library (mobile) When you tap Save to Photos, the app requests permission to add files you already downloaded to your device gallery. We do not read your entire photo library for profiling; access is used only for saves you initiate.
- On-device queue Downloaded items you add to the in-app queue are stored locally on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
Cookies & similar technologies
Core website delivery may rely on technically necessary functionality from the hosting or framework (e.g. Next.js defaults). Optional analytics or personalised ads on the web are described above (AdSense) and honour applicable consent banners (EU/UK/EEA, select U.S. states, etc.) where we show them.
Legal bases & third parties
Providing the requested URL analysis and download requires contacting third-party platforms and CDNs (e.g. Meta-related hosts) as directed by the link you paste. Their privacy policies govern their systems. We do not control what those parties log.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or equivalent age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors to market to them.
Your choices & rights
- You can stop interacting with our servers by closing the site/app.
- Email mh.dxb17@gmail.com for access, deletion, or correction requests for information we genuinely hold apart from ephemeral protections (we may refuse unfounded requests or clarify what we retain).
- For personalized ads on the web, use My Ad Center. On iOS, limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy → Tracking, or reset your advertising identifier. In the app, use Premium to turn off AdMob ads, or manage ad consent when UMP is shown.
Security
We limit server exposure to what is reasonably necessary and use cryptographic signing on time-limited URLs. No method of transmission over the Internet is entirely secure.
International transfers
Servers or infrastructure may be operated in multiple countries. Submitting requests may cause data to transit or be handled where your jurisdiction’s laws apply alongside other rules.
Changes
When we materially change practices, update this policy and revise the effective date above. App store distributions should expose the live URL of this privacy policy inside the listing.
